Yoga with watch wonder bloom
Mallory Foster, RYT-200 is thrilled to be able to offer virtual yoga classes for families, private sessions, and workshops virtually. Mallory began practicing yoga in high school to stay limber when dance classes were out of session. During college, Mallory got more interested in the strength building, injury prevention, and mindfulness components of yoga - resources that were critical as Mallory ran half marathons, lifted weights in CrossFit, taught high school science, and trained new public school teachers. Mallory's yoga practice also helped her stay healthy and happy throughout her pregnancy and as a new mother. While every body is different, Mallory strongly believes there is a way for everyone to practice yoga in a way that benefits them. Often the more we struggle to make it onto our mats, the more we need to be there.
In 2012, Mallory completed her 200-hr certification through Yoga Alliance at Asheville Yoga Center. Since then, Mallory has taught yoga for an array of participants, from infants and new mamas to competitive CrossFit athletes, from stressed out college students and teens to senior citizens seeking gentle classes. Mallory has taught yoga in a variety of settings, including studios, community events, and even in a brewery. You'll find that Mallory provides a welcoming environment in which to find your edge or to learn to relax. Mallory blends her research and work in Learning Sciences with her love for yoga in her carefully designed Story Time Yoga classes. In these classes you'll find that children develop emergent literacy skills through word play and comprehension strategies while moving their bodies.
Mallory has additional training and certifications in trauma-informed yoga practices and kids' yoga.

Break down yoga poses then weave them together in a dynamic sequence built to stretch and strengthen. Focus and relax your mind by setting intentions, noticing your breath, and resting at the end of each class.
Happening virtually NOW in the Bloom Classroom!
In Person - On Hiatus
For kids age 0-5 and their caregivers - Join us to shake our wiggles out, share a story, play with words and questions, and to act out the week's story with yoga poses. We'll end with relaxation.
Adults should plan to participate WITH their children as much as you are able. When we role model healthy habits, they stick! And yoga is beneficial for physical and emotional health! So please, come ready and willing to practice with us!

Class Details:
Class location: Classes meet in the story time/children's section OR in the large meeting room of the Prince George County Library.
Do I need to sign up? Nope! Just show up! While a regular yoga practice is beneficial, the classes stand alone, so please feel free to come as often as you can!
I want reminders about when class is: Sign up for Remind (a private and secure texting platform) by texting @e3ahf9 to 81010 for reminders about when class is and any updates and changes.
Running late? Please join us anyways! If we are jumping around, take time to do a few simple stretches first.
Need to leave early? Please leave during the final few poses of class to avoid disturbing people in relaxation mode.
A note on electronics: Please silence all electronics. If you are expecting emergency phone calls, please silence your phone and watch and place your phone at the front edge of your mat so you can see notifications. Use your time at yoga to connect to your mind, breath, body, and community in the room.
Children attending classes:
Due to the large age range of children invited to attend Story Time Yoga, kiddos will engage in yoga in different ways. Some we will hold, some will wander and make noise (I'll have some activities for them to do), and some will begin to try to copy us. However your kiddo engages on a day is wonderful and welcome. Please do not feel the need to leave if your child is in a rambunctious or noisy mood.
Please make sure that your children are healthy if attending Story Time Yoga or Family Flow Yoga. We may have babies present who are too young to be vaccinated and need to strive to keep our littlest friends healthy!
Please keep in mind that children cannot attend ALL Levels Flow Classes. These are designed to provide a relaxing and invigorating time for adults and childcare is not provided. Older teens (14ish+) who are interested in yoga are most welcome to attend with a caregiver!
I want more yoga! I missed a class! Do you have resources? Two of my favorite resources are Do Yoga with Me and Cosmic Kids Yoga. Enjoy!
We cannot wait to practice yoga with you and your family and to #watchwonderbloom as you refine your practice or try something brand new!
